Its the 16th February 2004, its 23.00.

You have decided to check her Airways, Breathing and Circulation. This is a good move.

The baby is making obstructed sounds. Little air is moving in and out.

Using an airway manoeuver taught to you in an emergency medicine course and a Guedel airway you are able to see the chest rise and feel the baby's breath against your hand.

The chest is rising and falling equally, with a rate around 30/min. There are a large number of crackles particularly in expiration. She looks blue around the lips.

You apply high flow oxygen using a mask. You put on a saturation monitor - initially it reads 80%, then rises to the mid 90's.

The heart rate is 185 and central pulse regular. Radial pulses are difficult to feel. Capilliary filling is over 5 seconds.

You site a cannula and ask for 20/kg of Saline to be pushed in.

While this is going on, the nurse points out that the child is still fitting.

What would you like to do now?
